The problem

Most banners fail one way or the other.

Consent banners tend to be either non-compliant, or configured so defensively they discard data you are perfectly allowed to measure. Neither is a good outcome for a client’s marketing.

Misconfigured Consent Mode is worse: it silently breaks conversion tracking while everything looks fine on the surface. The dip shows up weeks later, in a report.

Two consent setups over identical traffic with an identical refusal rate. The refused share is shown as gone in both. The difference between them is how much of the permitted data still reaches measurement, which is decided by configuration rather than by the banner.

How it works

Three steps, no mystery.

01

Review current consent

We check the banner and Consent Mode signals against what’s actually firing.

02

Set correct defaults

Consent Mode v2 defaults configured per client, compliant by design.

03

Keep data measurable

Consent handling that protects the measurement you are allowed to keep.

What you get

Deliverables, not slideware.

Lightweight consent banner, per-client configuration

Google Consent Mode v2 with correct defaults

Consent state wired into server-side and pixel

No silent breakage of conversion tracking

Clear record of what is and isn’t measured

Ongoing checks as regulations shift

The consent signal chain drawn twice, five steps from page load to the ad platform. In the first run the defaults are set after the tags and the chain breaks at step two, so even visitors who accepted are lost. In the second the defaults are set before the container loads and the chain completes, with the refused share still excluded by design.

Questions

What agencies ask about it.

Is a compliant banner not just a plugin?

A plugin drops a banner on the page. It rarely wires consent correctly into Consent Mode, server-side and the pixel. That wiring is where compliant-but-measurable actually happens.

Will correct consent cost us conversions?

Done right, it usually recovers them. Most losses we see come from over-defensive configuration that blocks measurement you were allowed to keep.

Does this work with our existing banner?

Often yes. If the current banner is sound we configure Consent Mode around it, rather than forcing a replacement.

Who is responsible for legal compliance?

We implement the technical side to Consent Mode v2 correctly. Legal sign-off on policy stays with you and your client, and we document exactly what the setup does.

What it does not do.

It is not legal advice and it is not a compliance certificate. It implements the position your legal counsel takes, correctly and verifiably.

It does not raise consent by making refusal hard to find. A banner that survives scrutiny is the point.

It does not recover data a visitor refused. A refusal stays a refusal, and no configuration changes that.
